Having worked with this client before we were familiar with the site and engaged to design a new studio that could also be used as an ancillary accommodation or granny flat. After resolving an initial concept at ground level we revised the design, raising the studio above the ground to shield the client's backyard from overlooking by a new development to the South. This revised layout provided a better outcome with North facing windows overlooking the backyard, a private courtyard and a shaded under croft with bike store below.
